Shandon Floyd, found dead on Two Notch Road

Shandon Floyd, a woman who was reported missing last week, has tragically passed away under mysterious circumstances. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating the incident. On Tuesday, just before midnight, authorities discovered Floyd alone and lifeless in the northeastern area of Richland County, specifically in the 10000 block of Two Notch Road.

According to deputies, a friend had reported Floyd missing on November 9. The acquaintance stated that Floyd had taken their car around 3 a.m. and had not returned by 7:15 p.m. the same day. Both Floyd and the friend were from Florence and were staying at the Roadway Inn on 31 Berkshire Drive in Columbia. The attending constable faced difficulty in contacting Floyd as all calls went straight to voicemail.

Preliminary inspection of Floyd’s body did not reveal any obvious signs of foul play. However, a comprehensive autopsy will be conducted by the Richland County Coroner’s Office to determine the cause of her tragic death. The autopsy report is expected to provide more information about the events leading up to Floyd’s passing. The authorities are actively investigating the case and are committed to uncovering the truth surrounding Shandon Floyd’s untimely demise.

Amecil Floyd, Floyd’s mother, made a heartfelt plea for assistance in finding her daughter. She stated that Floyd was last seen on November 8 and desperately wanted her back home. “I’ve been pleading with someone since Wednesday, please help me find my baby,” she cried. Floyd expressed her belief that the investigation might be progressing slowly due to her daughter being transgender and her sexual orientation. Family members shared that Shandon was staying at the Rodeway Inn motel on Berkshire Drive with friends while on a vacation to Columbia from Mullins.
